Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Acton
Man with Van Acton is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations with integrity, respect, and responsibility. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to identifying, preventing, and addressing modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. It applies to all staff, contractors, and suppliers who work with or on behalf of Man with Van Acton.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Acton has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and exploitation in any form. We will not knowingly engage with any organisation, individual, or supplier that is involved in such practices. This commitment is embedded in our business decisions, operational processes, and relationships with third parties.
All managers and team leaders are responsible for promoting this policy, ensuring that it is communicated clearly, understood, and upheld. Any breach of this policy by staff may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or contract.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Man with Van Acton provides transport, moving, and related support services. Our workforce includes directly engaged staff and subcontracted drivers and assistants. Our supply chains primarily involve vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, and facilities and administrative service providers.
We recognise that some areas of the logistics and transport sector may be at higher risk of labour exploitation. We therefore monitor these areas carefully and expect all parties we deal with to share our stance and take active steps to prevent modern slavery.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
Before entering into new supplier relationships, Man with Van Acton assesses the risk of modern slavery within that supplier’s operations and wider supply chain. We prefer to work with suppliers that can demonstrate robust labour standards, ethical practices, and compliance with all applicable laws on employment and human rights.
Our expectations include the prohibition of forced, bonded, or involuntary labour; the prohibition of child labour that contravenes local law; the payment of fair and lawful wages; and safe, respectful working conditions. Suppliers are required to comply with these principles as a condition of doing business with us.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Man with Van Acton conducts proportionate checks and audits on selected suppliers, focusing on those operating in higher-risk categories or regions. These reviews may include requesting information on labour practices, policies, and training; reviewing relevant documentation; and, where appropriate, site visits or virtual assessments.
Where concerns are identified, we engage with suppliers to seek clarification, corrective action, and improvements within clear timeframes. If a supplier fails to address legitimate concerns or is found to be involved in modern slavery practices, we may suspend or terminate the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
All employees, agency workers, contractors, and suppliers are encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions related to modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chains. Concerns may include signs of coercion, restriction of movement, withholding of documents, unfair deductions from wages, or any other indicators of exploitation.
Reports can be made to line managers, senior management, or via any existing internal reporting or whistleblowing channels. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will take all reasonable steps to protect those who raise issues in good faith from victimisation or retaliation. All reports will be investigated promptly, sensitively, and, where appropriate, independently.
Training and Awareness
Man with Van Acton is working to improve awareness of modern slavery risks among staff, especially in roles that involve recruitment, procurement, and supplier management. Training and guidance are provided to help colleagues recognise warning signs, understand their responsibilities, and know how to escalate concerns appropriately.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility. Man with Van Acton is committed to reviewing and improving our policies, processes, and controls as new risks, regulations, and best practices emerge.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once a year by senior management to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness. The review considers any reported incidents, the outcomes of supplier audits, feedback from staff and stakeholders, and changes in our operations or supply chains. Where necessary, we update our procedures and communicate any changes to all relevant parties.
By publishing this statement, Man with Van Acton reaffirms its commitment to acting ethically and transparently and to playing its part in the wider effort to eradicate modern slavery and human trafficking.
